Teaching and Learning Commons — Academic Success and Learning Services
The Commons offers a variety of evidence-based, peer-led academic support options for undergraduate students. These services are free and are designed to support students in continuously building their confidence and experience as learners.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) offers collaborative learning sessions that are facilitated by trained peer educators (known as SI Leaders). SI Sessions meet weekly for 80 minutes, and students are encouraged to engage with content, ask questions, and review material in community with their peers.

Content Tutoring (CT) offers appointment-based sessions that provide personalized support in course concepts, problem-solving, and learning strategies. Students can meet in person or online with a Content Tutor. Advance registration is recommended, and appointments can be booked here.

OASIS Services
OASIS Math & Science Tutorial Program (MSTP): MSTP provides free, peer-based academic support designed to help UC San Diego students strengthen their understanding of math and science concepts, build effective learning strategies, and develop confidence in their STEM coursework. MSTP services are offered through OASIS, located in Center Hall, 3rd Floor.
MSTP Chemistry & Physics Workshops: Twice-weekly, topic-based collaborative learning sessions that provide students with opportunities to review and strengthen foundational chemistry and physics concepts. Workshop topics are drawn from:

Students do not need to be enrolled in these courses to attend and may join any workshop relevant to a topic they would like to review. Workshops begin Week 2, and advance sign-up is highly encouraged.
MSTP Math 2 PUP-E Support: A 10-week diagnostic and tutoring program that helps Math 2 students strengthen their math skills and prepare for the PUP-E. Diagnostic testing began Week 1, with tutoring beginning Week 2.
MSTP Small-Group Precalculus Math Content Support: Peer-led, small-group content support is available by appointment for students seeking additional support in MATH 2, 3B & 3C. Beginning around Week 3, support will transition to a drop-in format, available Tuesday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., with no appointment required. Book Small-Group Math Content Support
